Since installing Windows 10 my Seagate external drive is not working properly. Was working fine under Windows 7.
Is there a compatibility problem? Reinstalling the Manager software seemed to exacerbate the problem!

In some cases, the update procedure messes things up, and errors could happen. However, you should't worry now that the application is working and the drive is recognized, but for the future, try downloading the Seagate Manager exactly for the version of Windows installed. Windows 7 version will do, but you should replace it with the newer one, when the developer releases it.
After installing Windows 8 my external Seagate FreeAgent Go does not respond. I have tried running comparability with Windows 7 but this did not help. I have un-installed and re-installed the software but still no luck. Anyone have a solution?

This is a common compatibility problem with Windows 8. The developers have published the following troubleshooting web-page in order to help their customers in this matter.
I performed a HP system recovery on my Windows XP PC and now I can't run Seagate Manager due to "Stxmanager.exe Entry Point not Found. The procedure entry point SetDLLDirectoryW could not be located in dynamic link library Kernel32.dll" error. What can I do?

In order to fix the issue, uninstall the software using its uninstaller or Add or Remove Programs feature and run Glary Utilities to make sure that there are no leftover rogue registry keys in your system. After that, reinstall the software. If you no longer have the program installer, download FreeAgent package from the Seagate Technology web page. It contains the Seagate Manager application. Alternatively, run Dll-Files Fixer utility which is developed to fix all major .dll related issues.
